Went to shoot the solar eclipse on the Utah Arizona border and ended up with this shot of Monument Valley. Though my shots of the eclipse fell flat, I didn't expect much armed with only my 50mm and 11-16mm >.<
Tokina 11-16mm? The shot is nice overall, like the colors. Lighting is a bit uninteresting in much of the photo to me personally. I might have gotten closer to where the light spilled onto the monuments.
Monument Valley is on Navajo lands, this was shot as close as I could get. Many people just stop and shoot from eye level. I got down below the lowest barb wire fences and shoot the cracks to create something in the foreground. I do feel that the lighting could have been more dynamic. And yes I used a 11-16mm Tokina.
Yeah, you gotta work with what you can get. It's still a cool photo I just ordered the Tokina lens and it should be here early next week, I'm super excited!
